Tech Robot Champions
Ages 9 & Up
Students who are in the Robot Champion class will be challenged by using advance robot coding using LEGO® MINDSTORMS® EV3. Students will learn the basic foundation to use tools, wheels, gears, and motors to design and build their own robot and program the software. Each session will add new challenging and more advanced building and programming techniques, which will be used for FLL Robotics Tournament & WRO Robotics Tournament.

Summary of Learning Activities
Phase 1: The Basics of Robotics I
Students will learn how to create the fundamentals of the LEGO Mindstorms builds by learning about complex builds, learning about the brain of the Lego EV3, the many different sensors that are included, movement, and realistic programming concepts.
Phase 2: Basics of Robotics II
Students will build upon what they’ve learned from the previous classes (Theme A) and apply what they’ve learned in more complicated builds to prepare them for the FLL competitions. They will combine different sensors in one build and learn more advanced programming concepts.
Phase 3: FLL Pre-Season
Putting the knowledge of the previous classes (Themes A and B) to the test and preparing students for the FLL competition by running a practice FLL competition from last season.
The actual FLL competition. This will include a very brief review of what we learned, emphasize teamwork, designing and building robots, and programming.
